Dr. Cheryl Roberts
The undulating theme throughout my career has been to help others do better what they love to do best. Spending 40 years in the higher education sector and serving in executive leadership for 20 years and as a college president for 14 years (Chemeketa Community College and Shoreline Community College), I’ve been driven to collaborate with others to unveil new opportunities and leave a greater impact on the communities I served.
Helping people develop audacious goals, set viable strategies, and celebrate achievements is what my career has been all about. I’ve listened to lead and inspired others by breathing life into bold ideas and making things happen. I have significant experience working with executive-level leadership in the fields of biotechnology, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, automotive, and high technology to strategically address talent development and diversity issues confronting their workforce.
For over fifteen years, I was an executive coach consultant for Battelle Leadership Laboratory in Seattle. I provided executive coaching to senior leadership and C-suite executives. In my approach to executive coaching, I aim to do more than just refine my clients' leadership skills. It's about empowering them to embrace a coaching mindset in leading their teams. As a result, I've witnessed incredible transformations through insight and action. By customizing strategies for each client, the results have been outstanding – I fostered enhanced communication, emotional intelligence, and decision-making skills, resulting in boosted team cohesion, increased productivity, and measurable business growth. Together, we unlocked their true leadership potential. It's been such a rewarding experience and continues to inform my work with ASJ Consulting, LLC!
As Annie Dillard once said, “How you spend each day, is of course, how you live your life.” I create an environment where clients can confidentially share issues, get to the heart of the matter, and arrive at meaningful solutions, enabling them to take this coaching mindset to make a difference in their work, with their team, and fill their lives with purpose.
Beyond my passion for coaching and inspiring leaders, I am an avid pickleball enthusiast and find joy in knitting, baking, and fostering connections by throwing theme parties. It is this holistic approach to life that has shaped my consultancy. Through ASJ Consulting, I offer guidance and expertise to leaders seeking growth and development in both the business and higher education sectors.
